In this hands-on class, you’ll dream up and design a one-of-a-kind wind chime that sings with personality and shines with your creative touch. Each piece becomes a tiny celebration of light and sound, waiting for the breeze to set it dancing.
You’ll hand-cut fusible glass (yes, you get to play with the fancy tools!) and sprinkle in delightful embellishments like frit, glass dots, stringers, and shimmering dichroic bits—think of it as seasoning your artwork with sparkle and joy.
Along the way, you’ll learn how to safely use glass tools and get comfortable with the essentials of working with glass, then dive into the fun part: creating your colorful, chime-worthy masterpiece.
Your finished top will be either a charming 5" square or a graceful 3" x 6" rectangle, ready to catch the light just so. To complete your wind symphony, you’ll add up to five dangling elements that will sing softly in the breeze. Hanging wire or cord and a handful of beads are included to help bring it all together.
You can assemble your chime right at the studio by appointment, or take it home after firing to finish it in your own cozy creative space.
