Friendship   Creativity   Glass​

Want to take a class and your friend wants to create a different glass project?  
No problem!  
Just choose your project, your friend may choose a DIFFERENT project for the SAME CLASS TIME/DATE.  You will be in class TOGETHER!  The fundamentals of glass projects are the same (scoring, breaking, create a design you love) so create what you like while you enjoy time with your friends!  
  • You will learn to use glass tools and about glass safety, then get busy creating your project
  • Not an artist? Just "follow the leader", you will be amazed at your unique glass projects!  
  • No fused glass experience is necessary.
  • Classes are scheduled for 2-4 hours- more than enough time to complete your project.  
  • Supplies, safety gear, instruction, everything is included (we are a NO SURPRISES studio!).
  • Feel free to bring your own beverages (please have a lid).
  • This is a friendly, casual event- please wear comfortable clothes, closed shoes (like sneakers) for foot protection.
  • All attendees are charged the class fee regardless of whether they create a project. 
  • You'll make new glassy friends, make a fused glass project and have lots of fun!

Project classes​ ~ Easy & Fun classes  

​Project classes are about $65 and take about 2-3 hours
Complete a project or two, depending on the project, ​easy and fun- perfect for all ages and abilities, for example: 
  • ​Ornaments, Suncatchers, wish dishes (dishes for anything you wish- this is a GREAT class for kids to take with their favorite adult), paint your child's hand or footprint on a special dish, ​garden stakes, & more!

Classes are $85 and up, depending upon the project.  3-4 hours, (varies, depending on project)

ABC's OF GLASS FUSING
​​3 hour introductory class  $100 
 This class is an entry level look into the exciting world of fusing glass.
Students will be given the basics of what fusible glass is and how to use it to create!  
Prerequisite: none!   
Two projects created in class.
You will learn:
  • What is Fusible Glass?
  • Effects of temperature: Tack, Contour, Full Fuse, Slump
  • Types and uses of glass such as frit, powder, stringers
  • How to cut glass and how to use the tools​
BEGINNING FUSED GLASS
3 classes (2.5 hours each)  or  1 day (8 hours)
$200 
Whether you are an experienced artist looking for a new medium or someone who has wanted to adventure into art glass for the first time, this is the class for you! 
You’ll make at least FOUR projects using fun, interesting techniques.
Prerequisite: none!  
You will learn everything covered in ABC's of Glass Fusing PLUS:
  • What is Fusible Glass? 
  • Compatibility, what is COE, volume control- the “6mm rule”
  • Effects of temperature: Tack, Contour, Full Fuse, Slump
  • About the different types, forms, and uses of glass such as frit, powder, and glass stringers
  • How to cut glass and use nippers, grozers and files
  • How to design and assemble your piece
  • We’ll practice safely using glass tools.
 
You’ll learn how to use transparent glass in suncatchers to bring color into your home. Learn to use opal and specialty glass for a special “pop” to your beautiful pieces.  Projects choices are fun and functional pieces.
GLASS CHALLENGE
​3 classes (2.5 hours each)  or  1 day (8 hours)

You’ll learn how to create even more fun and interesting projects and more about glass fusing! You’ll make 3-4 projects using these new techniques.  
​Prerequisite: Beginner Fused Glass class
 
You will learn:
  • Understanding firing schedules, when to use each, and shortcuts you should never take.
  • Preparing your molds for firing (kiln wash and spray).
  • Working with pieces thinner or thicker than 2 layers of glass.
  • Take the grinder mystery and dread to drill holes out of your glass projects. 
  • ​We’ll practice safely using glass tools.
